For Confined Setup
Place a shallow container (3 in deep, large enough for hens to stretch/flap) in the coop.
Mix 1-2 cups of powder per 10 cups of sand or dry soil. Fill to 3+ inches deep.
Q: How often should I refresh the powder?
A: Replace every 2–4 weeks or whenever it looks visibly soiled; replace sooner if wet or heavily contaminated.
2. Q: Is this safe for all chicken breeds?
A: Yes! Our dust bath mix is formulated with food-grade ingredients that are safe for all chicken breeds
from bantams to large fowl.
3. Q: Can chicks use this dust bath?
A: Wait until chicks are feathered and actively dust-bathing (usually several weeks old). Avoid very young chicks that cannot properly dust-bathe
4. Q: Can I compost spent powder?
A: Yes — spent powder with feathers and debris can be added to compost. If the product contains DE, follow local composting guidance (some municipalities restrict fine dusts).
5. Q: My birds aren’t using the dust bath — what can I do?
A: Place it in a sunny, sheltered spot that’s easy for them to access; put it near their favorite scratching area — birds prefer familiar, dry places.
Use in a well-ventilated area. Fine dust may irritate the respiratory tract — avoid breathing dust. If you experience respiratory irritation, stop use and move to fresh air; consider wearing protection when mixing or pouring
Eye Safety: Avoid contact with eyes. lf contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Keep bag sealed and store in a cool, dry place away from children and pets. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight.
